Stress Balls – Y6’s Enterprise Week

Year 6 made the most money in St Andrew’s first-ever Enterprise Week by making and selling stress balls.

The first part of the project was to select a product to make. We brainstormed and came up with lots of different ideas. We voted on them all and finally settled on stress balls. We costed them and decided they would be cheap to make and we could sell them for a profit.

We presented our ideas to the Dragons who gave us suggestions on pricing and quantities

We then had to make the stress balls. Initially we were going to fill them with flour but that was hard and we thought it would take too long so we decided to use sugar instead, even though it’s slightly more expensive.

We then designed our stall and planned our price points, doing profit projections to estimate our sales and returns. We also planned our advertising strategy and filmed our TV adverts.

We set up our stall ready for market and made sure it looked visually appealing.

During the market we used our signage to help communicate the benefits of our products to passers-by.

We made £148 overall after our costs were subtracted. We produced some graphs to show gross and net profit for the whole school’s figures.
